AC Milan / 94-95 / Home

I'll start with the oldest on this list. I love wearing the iconic red & black stripes of this lotto classic. Being a child growing up in the 90’s I was influenced by Football Italia (uk tv show covering Serie A) and that epic ending to the theme song screaming gooooolazooooo at my tv. It was hard not to fall in love with the Rossoneri & the Italian game as a whole.

Arsenal / 05-06 / Home

Ahhhh the Arsenal 05-06 home aka the redcurrant aka the final Highbury shirt. As a huge Arsenal fan, this shirt evokes so many memories as the mighty Gunners played out their final season in the stadium they called home since 1913. The colour is a much darker red than is usually associated with Arsenal as it’s a nod back to our first kits donated to us by Nottingham Forest, with a classy Gold trim this iconic shirt is a must-have for any Arsenal fan. If you ask any Arsenal fan to name the first player that comes to mind when they see this shirt I’m sure the king of Highbury Thierry Henry will be the most common answer. Oh, I won this shirt in a raffle which makes it sweeter.

Borussia Dortmund / 97-98 / Away

So no list is complete without a 90’s BvB top as their shirts from that era are regarded very highly within the community. If I owned the 96-97 away or even either of the 94-95 shirts with that interesting neck I may have picked one of them instead but I don’t! This shirt is in very heavy rotation, and I LOVE IT. I love the collar and neckline which was made popular again recently by Roma & Barca but what makes this one of my favorites is the crazy colour way which is essentially a static television screen with Dortmund’s signature neon yellow as the trim.

France / 1998 / Home

Wow wow wow I can’t even believe I own this shirt! This is an absolute grail for me. I was born in 1988, and where I do have vague memories of euro 96 (I cried like a baby when Southgate missed that penalty), the 1997/98 season was the first real season I could say “Football is my thing” and to top it off at the end of that season my first proper World Cup and boy it didn’t disappoint. I could tell you exactly where I was for that first game between Brazil & Scotland, R9 with the silver and blue boots, that Bergkamp goal, and the heartbreak when Becks got sent off. This tournament captured my imagination and has a huge space in my heart as a football fan and was capped off by the host nation, France winning the World Cup with a healthy sprinkling of arsenal players, oh and this future Arsenal legend. This was also a raffle win I know, I know I can’t believe it myself

Arsenal / 19-20 / Home / @artonshirtsfc Ian Wright

This has to be the favourite in my collection as well as the one that means the most to me and the most unique. I collaborated with artist @artonshirtsfc who painted a picture of my hero, Ian Wright, on what is otherwise I pretty unremarkable shirt. (See YouTube video). But what really makes this the prized piece in my collection is that I got to meet my hero Wrighty himself and I got him to sign it. Needless to say, this one will be framed.
